Independent ERP Expertise

Better decisions. Less risk. Only when you need it.
UBDSS provides independent Odoo and ERP expertise for organizations that need a trusted second opinion, deeper technical review, or experienced guidance on important implementation decisions.
How We Help

An independent expert at the table

ERP projects bring together software vendors, implementation partners, developers, consultants, internal business teams, and management.
Each participant brings valuable expertise - but also has a particular role, responsibility, and perspective.
UBDSS adds an independent expert perspective focused on the quality of the decision itself.
We do not represent a software vendor.
We do not need to sell additional development.
And we do not automatically agree with the party paying for the engagement.
Our role is to understand the situation, examine the reasoning, identify risks and alternatives, and provide a well-founded independent opinion.
A strong implementation team and UBDSS ultimately want the same thing: a successful ERP system that creates real value for the business.

When an ERP decision deserves a second opinion

Not every ERP decision requires another consultant. But some decisions are important enough to benefit from an independent review.
A proposed customization is expensive or difficult to justify.
Before investing in development, it may be worth asking whether the problem can be solved more simply — or without customization at all.
An estimate or technical recommendation is unclear.
We can help examine the assumptions, architecture, risks, alternatives, and long-term implications behind the proposal.
Your existing Odoo system has become difficult to maintain, understand, or upgrade.
An independent review can help identify unnecessary complexity, technical debt, problematic customizations, integration risks, and other structural issues.
You are selecting an implementation partner or evaluating competing proposals.
We can help assess proposed approaches, technical assumptions, team capabilities, scope, and potential risks before a major commitment is made.
The project is already experiencing problems.
Before investing more time and money, an objective assessment can help clarify what is actually happening, what can be corrected, and which decisions need to be reconsidered.
You simply want a second pair of experienced eyes.
Sometimes the most valuable engagement is not a large audit. It is having an experienced independent expert review an important decision before it becomes an expensive one.
A second opinion is inexpensive compared with a wrong ERP decision.

As little involvement as reasonably possible. As much depth as necessary

Not every ERP question requires a long consulting engagement.
Sometimes a short conversation, a review of a proposal, or a few hours of focused analysis is enough to validate a decision or identify an important risk.
Other situations require a deeper examination of business requirements, system architecture, configuration, integrations, custom modules, source code, security, or upgradeability.
UBDSS adjusts the depth of involvement to the risk, complexity, and importance of the issue.
We do not measure value by the number of consulting hours consumed. And we do not create unnecessary dependency by inserting ourselves into decisions that your existing team can handle effectively.
The objective is to provide sufficient expertise to make a well-founded decision and no more involvement than the situation actually requires.

Deep Odoo experience. Independent judgment.

Odoo is UBDSS’s primary ERP specialization.
Our experience comes from working inside Odoo implementation projects and understanding how systems are designed, configured, customized, integrated, upgraded, supported, and maintained.
This allows us to communicate effectively across the entire project - with business owners, management, business analysts, solution architects, developers, internal teams, and implementation partners.
But deep Odoo expertise does not mean recommending more Odoo development.
Sometimes the right answer is standard Odoo.
Sometimes customization is justified.
Sometimes the architecture or implementation approach should change.
And sometimes the best customization is the one you decide not to build.
Our role is to understand the business objective, examine the technical reality, and help determine which approach makes sense for the organization.
Expertise in a platform should improve the quality of the decision — not predetermine it.

We don’t replace your implementation team

UBDSS can work alongside your existing Odoo partner, internal team, consultants, developers, business analysts, and solution architects.
Our involvement does not require taking control of the project or replacing the people already responsible for it.
We may review a particular proposal, investigate a technical concern, participate in an important architectural discussion, validate an estimate or implementation approach, or perform a deeper independent assessment when the situation requires it.
Responsibility remains with the party that owns the decision.
UBDSS provides analysis, professional judgment, and recommendations. We take responsibility for the quality and integrity of our own work — not for decisions or actions that belong to others.
A strong implementation partner and UBDSS are not natural opponents.
When a recommendation is sound, an independent review should be able to confirm it. When there is a meaningful risk or a better alternative, it should be possible to explain why.
Success is shared: the client gets a better system, the implementation team delivers a stronger project, and the investment creates real business value.

Built from implementation experience

UBDSS was founded by Yevhen “Alex” Alieksieiev after years of working inside ERP and Odoo implementation projects.
His experience spans the technical and business sides of ERP implementation — from understanding business requirements and implementation decisions to architecture, customization, integrations, troubleshooting, code, and long-term system maintainability.
Working inside implementation projects also provides another kind of experience: understanding how ERP decisions are actually made, how technical recommendations become business commitments, and how seemingly small decisions can create long-term consequences for cost, complexity, and maintainability.
UBDSS grew from the idea that this experience can be especially valuable when applied independently.
Not to sell a particular solution.
Not to generate additional development work.
Not to take over somebody else’s role.
But to help organizations understand what they are deciding, what alternatives exist, and what risks they are accepting.

Have an ERP decision worth a second opinion?

You do not need to know what kind of consulting engagement you need before contacting us.
Start with the problem.
Tell us about the decision, concern, proposal, or system issue you are dealing with. We can help determine whether it calls for a quick expert opinion, a deeper technical review, or something else entirely.
Sometimes the right next step is simply a conversation.
